Bond, James Bond was created by Ian Fleming and made his first appearance in 1954 in Casino Royale portrayed by Barry Nelson. Sean Connery actually played Bond from 1962 through 1971 and in 1983’s Never Say Never Again.
With all the substitutes, David, Niven (1967), Roger Moore (1973–1985), and even Daniel Craig, (2006–present), Pierce Brosnan (1995–2002) is the only actor that comes close to Sean Connery’s sexy, cool and in-control demeanor as Bond. After all, Pierce played a character with similar sex-appeal and charm in The Thomas Crowne Affair.
